Looks much like a fern and is closely related to them. The fronds are bright green spring to summer, turning darker in fall. In frost-free regions, it will stay that way thru the winter, in colder regions the fronds will turn orangey-pink to bronze. Evergreen/semi-evergreen in milder zones (zones 8-10); winterdoermant in colder ones (6,7). Please note they can emerge VERY late in spring, as late a June. Slow spreading and likes an average to moist, well draining soil. Will tolerate dryer conditions once established.
