-Ready late March- The "official" description is "red/pink" flowers. However, looking at pictures on websites, including ours, show more of a purple/creamy-pink combo. Interestingly on John Jearrard's website the plant is shown indeed in red/pink, or at least purple/pink. Goes to show that flower color greatly depends on conditions. Grows in most well drained garden soils. Full sun is fine in higher elevation and/or cooler regions, otherwise needs a place without afternoon heat.
