-Ready late March- The leaves on this selection are a true masterpiece; large, roundish and covered with dots of farina (mealy substance) - rather than simply powdered with it. The flowers are deep velvety-red with green edge, which is also dotted with farina, along with the center. The very edge is again outlined with a solid line of farina. Grows in most well drained garden soils. Full sun is fine in higher elevation and/or cooler regions, otherwise needs a place without afternoon heat.
