(Formerly sold as L. alpinum EP 1501) A short/dwarf selection with "classic" shape, coloring and proportions. The Edelweiss of the Alps - Leontopodium alpinum - varies greatly in every way; flower shape, color and size; leaf shape color and size, longevity as a plant and also dividability of the plant, which is important in propagation.While there are great selections in 'Matterhorn' and 'Mont Blanc', we're still looking for a smaller, cuter version. In 2015, hence the working number "1501", we selected several with that criteria and kept 2 for sharing, starting in 2023. As you can see, it takes a looong time to watch and experiment. We have another dozen or so in the pipes and before naming them other than with a number, we will wait and see….
