An American native found in many states east of the Missouri River, in some of which endangered. The pure white flowers are 1" across and similar to the single bloodroot, lasting couple of weeks as well. The main attraction here are the unique leaves, divided into halves. With their coarsely toothed edges they look like butterflies. Although they grow in alkaline soil in the wild, they adapt well to our rather acidic soil here in Oregon. 2-3/8" square and 5" deep pots.
