Closely related to G. acaulis and belonging to what we call the Trumpet Gentian group, scientifically called subgenus Ciminalis. The big difference to the others: it's strictly clumping, which makes it nice and tidy for limited spaces in rock gardens and troughs. The large trumpets vary in shades of blue, but are almost always dark to very dark. These are seedlings, so every one is a bit different.
