[Formerly sold as G. angustifolia Hybrid (Leach)] This selection was raised about 20 years ago by Scotty Fairchild at Leach Botanical Garden, Portland, Oregon. Myself selling plants at the "Leach Sale", I saw this one on their table and I simply couldn't resist; what a bright color! And a good grower, in fact the fastest grower of all we offer, suitable as a groundcover and ideal for steep slopes and erosion control. Blooms are large, upward facing trumpets in bright, deep blue. The main blooming season is spring but they can re-bloom throughout summer and fall. The leathery foliage is evergreen. For any good garden soil, needs light shade in hotter regions. 3 1/2" pots - about 1 1/2 to 2 times larger plants than our regular size. In years, 3 years old instead of 2.
