I remember we grew this dwarf selection at Frei Nursery, Switzerland, in the 80s during my apprenticeship. For what I remember it was new at that time, but 30 years later it's still extremely rare. Finally broke down and acquired one on my 2007 Europe trip. Half of the plant we planted outside and the other half went into a pot, where it sat through 2014, while flourishing and blooming every year unperturbed. I'd say that’s some plant! Deservedly, 'Bajazzo' got divided the following year and we now have a few to share. Easy in any average, well drained and rather lean soil. Drought tolerant.
