Not quite sure about the nomenclature but we do know that thing blooms very dark purple, close to black. It's a smaller Iris easy to integrate into a border and does best in a moist soil.

Absolutely striking flowers; white and heavily spotted in violet-blue, creating a solid zone in the lower part of the falls. Being a laevigata Iris, easy to grow in most any soils but dry and can be planted into a few inches of water as well.

Hands down one of the most versatile and best Irises. Bright and wide variegated leaves set off the almost true blue, large flowers. Grows in average soil to shallow water and is very hardy.

A dwarf spuria iris, with cream falls veined heavily with lavender-blue, standards are blue with violet base. The slender foliage, dark and glossy, stays through the winter. Moist but well drained soil.
