Notes About :Alstroemeria

ALSTROEMERIA PERUVIAN LILY. All are outstanding cut flowers and like a well drained, fertile soil. Mulching, especially the first winter, makes them hardy in colder zones than stated. 'Pacific Sunset' hybrids are exceptional crosses with a great array of color, long blooming period and improved hardiness. NOTE: Some colors sell out quickly in spring and we may ship them them as bare root. The plant size will be the same or larger.

Ready beginning of May. The name made us suspicious first, not knowing if "Dusty" is a code name for dirty. We were very much pleased to see the first bloom open in what we would call antique rose. The bloom size is above average and the vigor of the plant just right.

The variegated form of 'Sweet Laura', from whom it inherited its fragrance and dark gold blooms, opening from a maroon bud. The creamy yellow edged leaves stay until frost or stay evergreen in milder zones. One of the hardiest Alstroemerias.
