Yes, smaller yet is this little critter, with tiny leaves that are grayish blue-green. Hasn't bloomed for us thus far, but it's supposed to, according to literature. Let's say it's less floriferous. Evergreen.

We like apricot and double means more of it. As the common name suggests, the flowers look like little roses. A light shearing after the first flush of blooms encourages re-bloom in late summer/fall. Tough evergreen, small-scale ground cover for dry spots. Just a few left.

A true evergreen plant with dark green, dissected foliage with a silvery cast in winter. The stems on this selection are red, so are the rims of the bell-shaped flowers. Top winter plant!

Cross between the dark purple with strongly dissected foliage plant and waxy maroon flowered plant. The result surprised ourselves; strongly dissected foliage, purple in spring and obsidian-black, bowl-shaped flowers. As with all seedling strains, there is variation in the bloom color. Very adaptable, they don't mind heavy soil and are drought tolerant, however, will more likely grow into impressive clumps in rich, moist soil.

This is one of the most sought-after H. niger varieties, distinct for the extra large flowers with overlapping petals on relatively long stems. Although sometimes offered as "divisions from the original plant", it actually was never sold as such. It was developed as a seedling strain by late Hilda Davenport, founder of the world famous Washfield Nursery in the 1950s. As all H. niger, likes a fertile, well drained soil.
